Aleppy is a part of Kuttanad, known as the rice bowl of Kerala with the unending stretches of paddy fields, small streams and canals with lush green coconut palms. The town is a landmark between the Arabian Sea and a web of rivers flowing into it is an important tourist destination in India famous for its backwaters and house boat cruises which is the most popular tourist attraction in Kerala. It connects Kumarakom and Cochin towards north and Kollam to the South. Apart from Backwaters the other attraction of Aleppey is its famous beach along the coast of the Arabian Sea.
